"The place is clean and functional if you're looking to stay in the Silver Lake area. I chose the location based on the proximity to another friend's Airbnb, which was a quick couple blocks away. It's a nice neighborhood and Judith was kind in welcoming me and getting checked in. Parking is limited because the streets are narrow and you can only park on one side, but it's still possible to find a spot within the same block of the house. Besides sleeping, I was not there very much, but it makes for a good landing spot to have a roof over your head while you're adventuring around LA during the day if you'd like to be in Silver Lake."

This very roomy studio, in Silver Lake is very nice, clean and central, to where we needed to be in Los Angeles. The owner very helpful, concerning some of our questions prior to our trip. There were a few minor issues, that, had some impact on our stay. There is a parking issue, and on a couple of rainy nights, we had to park around the corner, about a block away...might have been better, if we could have made an arrangement to share the driveway, in the evening. Steps leading to the studio are in the back of the house, so, a flashlight came in handy at night."

"Silver Lake Suite is a cozy and comfortable deluxe studio with a hint of romance and an amazingly sized balcony. The balcony doesn't have much of a view, but does have some pretty landscaping. The fireplace is more of an aesthetic and not for use. The suite sits below the co-host/owner, Judith. Upon check-in, you will have a set of rules and instructions from Judith and an informative handout from David. Both are no hard to comply with at all, unless you plan to have a rager. Judith was pleasant and quick in response. If you need anything, she's right upstairs. Otherwise, she basically let's you be. Def nice for a couple. Not as walkable as we'd hoped for, but close to a few nice things that David highlights in his handout."

Although there didn't seem to be parking when we first arrived, I was able to find parking no more then a block away. The studio is down a flight of stairs. Upon entering the studio was clean. The bed was very comfortable and overall pretty quiet during our stay. My daughter and I would leave in the morning and would be gone until night. Check in and check out was easy! Would recommend to someone who can physically handle stairs. Although My daughter and I didn't have any problems, it may be a problem for someone who has a hard time with stairs. The balcony was huge. Although we didn't spend much time out there. This would also be a nice place for someone who would like to spend more time outside on balcony as it was ideal for relaxing. :) Would recommend David's place to anyone. It is overall quiet and in a safe quiet neighborhood."

"Always wanted to stay in this area....very nice. Close to several freeways and WAZE takes you around traffic via downtown and streets I have never been on. The apartment is like the photos. Bed is comfortable. I requested more lighting which was supplied. There were a couple of issues which were resolved. The negatives: WIFI and I found street parking tight if you arrived home in the evening. ( required a walk--). Sadly I did not get much time on the deck but it was nice. I felt safe. Owners were responsive and ok to deal with."

I recently stayed 5 nights while visiting a daughter and family who live 5 minutes away. Suited my needs perfectly. The terrace is fine though as I spent most of my time at my daughters I didn't have a need for it.

I live in Florida and if you are flying in a huge advantage to this area of LA is that you can fly in to Bob Hope Airport in Burbank and avoid LAX. LAX , a/k/a Dante's Fifth Ring of Hell, is a monster cab/Uber ride away from Silver Lake ---actually it is convenient to nothing civilized. Even though you probably have to Gate check your roll ons (a factor if you have medical or other items that you do not want to let out of your sight) Burbank airport is a convenient small easy oasis in a nation of horrid airports. Not a lot of flights into it----which is why it's easy. I stress this in an apartment review as I consider it a big plus for the apartment."

The balcony outside is just for you, nice and peaceful and a good amount of sun and shade during the early afternoon for whatever you desire. We had complete privacy and they had listed a lot of nearby places such as coffee, restaurants, and other nearby places that you would possibly need. It was easy to walk to Silver Lake Coffee and a nearby CVS and Starbucks. It was a very quiet, beautiful neighborhood! We used Uber to get around but would probably rent a car to get around next time. We would DEFINITELY recommend this place and would stay again ourselves on our next visit out to LA!"

"This is an area almost completely lacking hotel or motel accommodation, so the suite is ideal for local visiting, and within a twenty minute drive of many of LA's attractions. The renter gets the entire lower portion of a house built on a slope, meaning that once in it you feel that you are completely in your own environment and not simply 'part of someone else's house'. The apartment benefits from a very large secluded deck and is almost totally surrounded by tall trees which will be ideal in summer months. The bed is very comfortable and the kitchen, although compact, is offered with every appliance and utensil for basic home cooking. All in all a very competitive way to stay in LA!

We recently stayed with Judith in her very spacious and clean suite. We were in LA for 3 days and found that the location was fantastic. You will definitely need a car if you are stay in LA, and we had one. Judith's suite is located very centrally, with easy access to all the major freeways. While there, we were very easily able to make are way to Venice Beach, the Inglewood Forum, Sunset Blvd, Beverley Hills, Hollywood, Santa Monica and Malibu, using the freeway system. The suite is located in the Silver Lake area, and is a very safe, and now trending, area. The suite has access to coffee shops (SilverLake Coffee was our regular), pharmacies, restaurants, banks and grocery stores all within a 5 min walk or drive. We will definitely be staying there again, and I would highly recommend enjoying your morning coffee on the suite's back patio!!"

Spotty phone reception in the unit, but wifi held up so could use that instead. Only downside was that you can't control the temperature of the unit from within it – only the upstairs unit has the air con control, so it got a bit hot at times downstairs. "

"My husband and I rented this property because we were going to his graduation at USC. This was a great location for us. We did not want to stay directly in the city of Los Angeles but we wanted to stay close. Silverlake is a nice area and about 9 miles (15-20 min) from Los Angeles. The rental property is beautiful and it is exactly like the pictures. There is a huge back porch with just a nice homey feeling. They have a security system and strong metal doors on the outside so safety is not issue. The property is directly below the owner and when we were leaving she asked if there were any things that she could improve on for future guests. And I think that was a very nice gesture. My husband is a wounded warrior and I am active duty; they gave us a discount for our service. This is place is definitely not for the partying crowd; But it was perfect for my husband and I."

"This is a guest suite with a private entrance, but it's still a suite below David and Judith's house. It's a nicer place to stay than some other AirBnB listings since no one lives here regularly (so no worries about seeing other people's toiletries, etc) and Judith has added lots of touches to make every guest comfortable (lots of hanging space for clothes, ironing board, kitchenette with fridge, microwave, and full set of dishes, etc). The deck is huge, feels totally private, and is a fantastic outdoor living space. Only downside in the stay was a slight confrontation with Judith. House rules say deck lights must be turned off by 10:00pm. One night I turned them off a few minutes late, and at 10:10 Judith came downstairs upset. I guess her neighbor complained that the lights were still on at 10:05. I sympathize with the neighbor, but as I had already turned the lights off, the confrontation was not necessary. Judith apologized a few days later when we checked out, however. Because the apartment was so nice to stay in otherwise, and that deck was so fabulous, our stay still deserves 4 stars, and I would still recommend it to others. Just be sure to turn the lights off before 10!"

The neighborhood is centrally located (we went all over LA and didn't spend more than 30 minutes in the car). "My husband and I stayed four nights in this "hidden treasure" in one of LA's trendiest neighborhoods. Located on a quiet, tree-lined street a couple of blocks uphill from a main thoroughfare, it provided easy access to our various destinations. We easily found good restaurants in the vicinity. Nearby Silver Lake has walking/running paths and calm park areas. The studio is nicely decorated with a comfortable bed, well-equipped kitchen and lots of lovely filtered light. Two sets of sliding glass doors open onto a large terrace overlooking a secluded green space. Access is down a somewhat steep exterior stair without handrail, so unsteady walkers be cautious. Host Judith was the picture of hospitality, accommodating of our planned early arrival, then most understanding when our flight delayed us two hours. We would definitely stay here again."

"This is a large studio in a quiet residential area, with shops and restaurants within walking distance. Bonus space in large walk-out deck that overlooks private backyard. Has fireplace and sophisticated security system. Kitchen fully supplied, roomy studio has high quality sheets and towels and is spotlessly clean. Two dressers, armoire with full length mirror, lots of electrical outlets. Checks accepted for deposit but we were told upon check-in that cash was required for shorter rental periods, so inquire about mode of payment before you arrive. On-street parking is available but can be tight. Only negatives were smallish double bed — traveling companions need to be good friends because there's no separate couch, instead a lovely small loveseat. Wi-Fi connection didn't work over Thanksgiving but we were assured by the owner this would be fixed on Monday. Judith is friendly and helpful, lives upstairs and is not intrusive. Good value for the money, we hope to return."

"Great apartment in a cool suburb"

"My partner and I stayed here in april and really enjoyed ourselves. The apartment is well appointed, spacious and very comfortable. Silverlake is a really great suburb: cool houses, some good shops and not touristy.

We took up the opportunity to also hire the car which turned out to also include GPS. That was pretty essential for getting around la. You will need a car at this location.

David and Judith made our stay pleasant and all the correspondence was clear, prompt and friendly. We highly recommend this apartment if you would like a relaxed stay in la in a great area. "

"This is a great apartment in a just about perfect location! Very clean and comfortable with just about everything you need right there. I loved the little kitchen, full-size refrigerator, comfy bed, great shower, and the amazing balcony. Located in a very quiet neighborhood blocks from Glendale Blvd right near some of my favorite spots (Silver Lake Wine, the Red Lion Tavern, and Gingergrass) we really loved our stay here. Although the neighborhood is very quiet keep in mind this apartment it the lower level in a house so you will hear the neighbors a little bit (muted conversation, moving furniture, etc), but that didn't both or impact my stay at all. Communication is the best I've had on AirBNB. Great stay!"

Location
The location of this suite was amazingly convenient! It was very close to several of the major highways in la, had a grocery store and CVS nearby, and was located nearby several restaurants, fast food chains, coffee shops, and local places. The location was our favorite thing about the suite!

Suite amenities
Basically, it's a converted basement of a home designed to be like a studio apartment. There's a small kitchen with several tiny appliances and things (we didn't use any of them, so we're not sure what works and what doesn't) and kitchen items. There was dining room table with 4 chairs near the kitchen. Right by the dining room table was an oversized chair with matching ottoman and (2) chairs from Ikea. The bedroom area featured a double bed with (2) pillows.

Parking
It's street parking only at this place. Sometimes you might find yourself a block or two away. The owners have their own driveway and then there's another driveway where their rental car is, but no extra space. Rental car is $20 per day.

Suite V. Hotel
It was a great location but you've got to keep in mind, people live upstairs! You'll hear their TV, you might hear them talk, and throughout the night you're going to hear them move around, walk around, turn on appliances, etc. It wasn't unbearable but it was noticeable - and when on vacation, you wouldn't cut loose the same at your grandparents house as you would a hotel. So, because we're respectful we didn't want to make any noise or disturb them - something you wouldn't have to worry about at a hotel.

Check-out
They are strict about your 10am check-out. So much so they'll email you, and try to show up as early as possible. It was very off-putting, all so the maid could come early.

Suggestions
-Spring for a queen bed! It would absolutely fit and would be so much more comfortable than a double bed.
-Give your guests more than (2) pillows
-Be flexible with check-out time"

"Excellent efficiency for a month or less;"

"We were trying on la for size and thought a month's stay would give us an idea of what it would be like to live there on an extended basis. The apartment is part of a duplex and the landlords are on site. It's not fancy, but well thought out, very clean and maintained. The landlords supplied most of the essentials for the kitchen and bathroom. There is a large outside private deck and a fireplace (which we didn't use). Both David and Judith (the landlords) were extremely responsive to any questions or problems that arose. Quiet, walkable to a Ralph's, CVS, bars and the reservoir. Street parking was never a problem. This apartment was ideal for people who want to be in the Silver Lake, Los Feliz area and feel comfortable in a more residential neighborhood. There is nothing touristy about it. If you are looking for a tourist experience, you will have to drive to Hollywood, Santa Monica, Beverly Hills, etc. For us, it was a great experience and we would not hesitate to stay here again."

"I enjoyed my stay extensively and would highly recommend this as an alternative to a hotel -- especially if you have family or friends living in Silver Lake or Echo Park! I described it to friends as a "bed and breakfast" without the breakfast. The only (very minor) drawbacks were that the phone rang several times (seeming to be someone trying to fax something?), and in an otherwise well-equipped kitchen for essentials (dishes, silverware, pots & pans, electric kettle, salt and pepper...) there was no sugar that I could find which kind of surprised me. I only add these things in case the owners read this and care to address these very minor issues. They certainly weren't worth complaining about at the time. Overall my stay was excellent!!!"
